Veteran actor-screenwriter Shiv Subrahmanyam passed away today morning. The cause of his death is not known yet. Film personalities like Anil Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Sudhir Mishra have mourned his demise. They remembered Subramaniam and his contribution to Indian Cinema.
Anil Kapoor shared a picture of the actor and wrote- "I had the opportunity to work with Shiv first in Parinda and then in 24 and both the times he was exceptional. An excellent actor who will be truly missedâ¦my heartfelt condolences to the family."

Manoj Bajpayee tweeted- "Rest in peace Shiv!! Such a tragic news one woke up to! Condolences to the family & friends!!"
Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra recalled working with the veteran actor and stated- "Shiv Subramaniam co wrote Is Raat ki Subah Nahin ,Chameli n Hazaaron with me but much before that in 1984,when I was a writer n on Saeed Mirza's Mohan Joshi Haazir Ho,Naseer ( NaseeruddinShah) brought this young Kid 2 d set n told me to teach him the ropes .The kid learnt fast ."
Actor Ali Fazal also paid his condolence and wrote -" RIP sir."
Divyendu Sharma wrote- "RIP Shiv Subramanyam. A fine writer n an Actor!"
And director duo Raj and DK shared a black-and-white picture of the veteran actor.
Arjun Kapoor, who worked with the late actor in the hit film '2 States', took to his Instagram Story and shared a monochrome picture of his co-star. "Rest in peace, Shiv sir. You will be missed," he wrote.
Abhimanyu Dassani, who shared screen space with Subrahmanyam in 'Meenakshi Sundareshwar', shared a still from their film on his Instagram Story. He penned, "So kind so gentle so caring and so witty. Will always cherish the evening walks with you. Rest in peace sir, you will be missed."
For the unversed, Subrahmanyam was credited for writing the screenplay for the 1989 film 'Parinda', and for Sudhir Mishra's 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi'. He also won many hearts with his role as Alia Bhatt's father in 'Two States'. He was last seen in Netflix's film 'Meenakshi Sundareshwar'.
