The achievements of Priam Vasudevan Pillai (28), director of International Affairs, Pillai's Group of Institutions, Panvel, are highly impressive.

A graduate from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Priam has been honoured for his expertise by the Boston Police Special Weapons and Tactics team and Suffolk Country Gun Prosecution Task Force.

Not only this, but Priam has also been awarded the Gore Award for Innovation by the US Army.

Son of Dr K M Vasudvan Pillai, CEO and secretary of Mahatma Education Society, Priam's expertise in interpreting images captured by a thermal camera for assisting trials was lauded by the Boston police squad.

Not only were thermal images used for the first time in a trial, but they also got the approval of the jury.

Priam also founded Polymer Devices Inc in April 2010 for developing conducive technologies for the soldiers in war.

"We designed flexible conducting polymer antenna placed on the back shoulder of a standard issue army jacket as against the 1m whip antenna that protrudes from their backpacks," explains Priam.
