Mahhi Vij with her kids, Tara, Khushi and Rajveer
Actress Mahhi Vij has always been open about her life decisions. The actress, who loves her foster kids Rajveer and Khushi as much as she loves her biological daughter Tara, has faced several judgments on her parenting. For her, life has not been easy. In a Mother's Day special interview with mid-day.com, Mahhi talked about her IVF journey, dealing with trolls, dividing responsibilities with husband Jay Bhanushali, and much more.
Mahhi started the conversation by revealing what her kids do for her on Mother's Day. She said, "I'm going to miss Khushi and Rajveer because they've gone to their hometown. Usually, they make a card or surprise me on Mother's Day, teaching Tara how to make a card or surprise her mother too. It's always been special since Tara's birth because she gave me the title of 'mother', and Mother's Day has been special ever since."
While talking about how life has changed, Mahhi elaborated, "Life changes in a way where you don't prioritize yourself or your partner; for that matter, anybody. Your child's well-being and upbringing matter the most. So, it changes."

For Mahhi, her pregnancy journey was not a cakewalk, with multiple failed IVFs. The actress was going through a lot when she conceived Tara, but this didn't affect her. Shedding light on her pregnancy journey, Mahhi shared, "I'm a very happy-go-lucky person. Even during my pregnancy, I never felt that it was something difficult to cope with. I had a smooth pregnancy despite IVF. You have to stay positive; you have to think positively. The procedure was difficult, but I always had a smile on my face, thinking that at least God is giving me a child. I didn't go through postpartum depression."
Jay and Mahhi are parents to two foster kids, Rajveer and Khushi. While sharing how the two little ones love Tara, Mahhi said, "Throughout my pregnancy with Tara, Khushi was my support. She supported me when I had to get shots; she would tell the nurse, 'If you don't give the shot properly, we won't call you.' So, she was there throughout. Khushi and Rajveer were on cloud nine; they were very happy about having a baby. Many people told me there would be jealousy between them, but they are very careful about her. They are very loving and protective towards her."
Mahhi's difficulties were not restricted to IVFs; she had faced a lot of trolling for her parenting style when it came to Khushi and Rajveer. While reacting to the trolls, she said, "Khushi and Rajveer are pretty grown up to be able to watch YouTube. They read the comments, and they ask, 'Mom, they're so bad. Are there such people in the world?' So, I tell them not to read."
She further elaborated on how people judged her, saying, "Even if I have a reel where I'm holding Tara and Khushi, and I go close to Tara, they say, âshe has her own child. So, look what she is doing. She didn't hold Khushi's hand and all'."
While addressing trolls, the actress added, "Trolling is part of social media. You do good, they will troll you. You do bad, they will troll you. So, it doesn't affect me anymore, you know. They were trolling her for makeup, saying that she does makeup and all."
