Want to know if you can survive a zombie apocalypse? A VR arcade in Lower Parel could be a good place to test

Being a fan of dystopian TV shows, the thought of experiencing a zombie outbreak seemed exciting to me. Hollywood has gone to great lengths to make these films appear realistic, and watching them has silently (and guiltily) made me hope for one to occur. But, in the end, it all boils down to one thing: Will you be the one to survive the apocalypse? We may not have a zombie outbreak at hand, but a deadly virus has hijacked our lives, which made the timing to visit Zero Latency perfect.

Briefing session and gearing up
The Lower Parel address offers an immersive battleground with mind-blowing settings, and I went ahead and tried a new game called Undead Arena, a 15-minute thrill. It is played in a warehouse-sized space with a maximum of eight players. Before entering the arena, I was briefed about the equipment, safety procedures, tips and tactics. Custom-made simulated weapons and game controllers have been designed for maximum immersion. I was handed a gun to shoot with, as well as a VR headset with 2K resolution. The astounding graphics are capable of suspending all disbelief. I was also given a Razer headphone, which provides an ultra-realistic level of surround sound and a clear line of communication between all players. Finally, I was strapped with a military-grade backpack containing a high-performance Alienware PC gaming computer, which powers a free-roaming experience. I was now ready to fight the enemy.
There are two levels in Undead Arena. In the first, you fight alongside your partner or friends. In the second, you begin by fighting alone before catching up with your teammates. The game is simple: you earn points for killing zombies, and just like in every apocalyptic movie, a zombie is killed faster if shot in the head. Similarly, killing a zombie with a head shot earns you 150 points. The fact that you can die multiple times is reassuring. The only catch though, is that when you do, the game pauses for 10 seconds and you lose 500 points. At the end of it, your scores are displayed on a score board, which includes individual and group scores, as well as your ranking.
Overall, the graphics, play area, and equipment offered a wholesome experience and made me feel like I was in an alternate universe. If you are afraid of the walking dead, we suggest you try Singularity, that involves fighting bots and aliens, or Engineerium, in which you search for crystal balls by walking on topsy-turvy and trippy roads. Because there is a lot of violence and bloodshed in the arena, most games are only appropriate for players over 13 years. We hear that they are developing another VR game for younger children, making it a gaming zone for all.
