A power-packed performance from leg-spinner Yashasvi Jaiswal helped Rizvi Springfield (Bandra) inch closer to the title against Hansraj Morarji Public School (Andheri) on Day Two of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association-organised under-16 Harris Shield final at Wankhede Stadium yesterday.

At stumps, Hansraj Morarji were 67-8 in 47.4 overs in their second innings with a lead of just 20 runs over the defending champions. The Andheri team were earlier bowled out for 104 in 44.2 overs.

Yashasvi weaved his magic over the Hansraj batsmen in their second essay to end the day with figures of 4-20.

The leggie dismissed Arya Jadhav (3) and Furquan Charolia (1) cheaply.

The Rizvi spinner continued to trouble the opposition batsmen and in the process, trapped Nayan Jadhav leg before wicket (0) and had Tanishq Panikeveeti caught behind for 10.

Hansraj batsman Ayush Sharma (45) got off to a good start, but was unable to convert it into a big score on a turning Wankhede track.

Along with Yashasvi, medium pacers Shreyansh Bogar (2-17) and Akash Yadav (1-8) were among the wickets.

Earlier, resuming on their overnight score of 58-4, Rizvi were bowled out for 151 in 65.5 overs. Hansraj's Aryan Sen was the wrecker-in-chief as he bagged a fifer (5-41) in his 20.5 overs spell.

The left-arm spinner used the conditions to his benefit and spun a web around the Rizvi batsmen. After dismissing openers Abhinav Kushwaha (5) and Al-Saad Shaikh (13) on the first day, Aaryan bowled Ranveer Yadav for 29 and then trapped Shreyansh Bogar leg before wicket. He then bowled Saad Sajid Shaikh (0) to claim his fifer.

Yash Salunkhe remained unbeaten on 56.
