1,800 runners expected at Juhu event

Around 1,800 runners, among them the state’s leading male and female long distance athletes are expected to participate in JITTHON 10K to be flagged off in Juhu today.


The event will offer a total prize money of Rs 2 lakh and runs will be held for men and women in three age groups—18-35, 35-55 and 56 and above over the distances of 5K and 10K.


The winners in each category will take a home prize purse of Rs 15,000, besides running shoes, while the 10K top-three finishers will also get watches. 


The event and route measurement is AIMS-certified and the event is affiliated to the Mumbai Suburban District Association.
