Forward Wilfried Bony scored a header to put his side ahead in the 22nd minute before midfielder Kevin De Bruyne doubled the lead in the 44th minute.

In the second half of the game, Kelechi Iheanacho thumped the third goal for City followed by another goal by Yaya Toure, the Guardian reported.

It was defender Damien Delaney who scored a goal for Crystal in the 89th minute before Garcia Alonso smashed another goal for his side one minute later to make it 5-1 against the visitors.

City will now play a quarterfinal match against Hull City on December 1.
