Mumbai City FC may have been the home side yesterday but NorthEast United FC had a sizeable fan following at Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium yesterday. The large north eastern student community, which resides in Mumbai, could be easily spotted in the stands with all of them sporting the white jerseys of the away team at the partially-filled stadium.


Mumbai pays tribute to Benachour's father
The Mumbai City FC players took the field yesterday sporting black armbands as a mark of respect for Tunisian midfielder Selim Benachour's father, who passed away on Saturday. Benachour made a substitute appearance in the 2-0 win over FC Goa on Sunday before flying out to France to complete the funeral ceremonies.
