Four Maharashtra girls in India U-15 team for SAFF event

Four girls from Maharashtra have been selected to represent India in the SAFF U-15 women's football championship to be played in Bhutan from August 8 to 19. Priyanka Sujeesh, Jahnvi Shetty and Mehak Lobo, all from Mumbai, and Anjali Barke from Pune, were included in the 23-member squad announced by the All India Football Federation yesterday.


Mehak is among the four forwards, while Priyanka is a defensive midfielder. Jahnvi can play as right-winger or as a central defensive midfielder and Anjali is a goalkeeper. The Indians open their campaign against Sri Lanka on August 9 and then clash with Bhutan on August 13.
