Wasim Akram's wife Shaniera had a cheeky reply to an online user after BBC's Newsnight played out some footage of her husband instead of his former teammate-turned-politician Imran Khan recently.

The news show was documenting Khan's journey from being a cricket hero to running for the post fo Pakistan's Prime Minister. But instead of showing the right-handed all-rounder in action, the show aired footage of left-arm pacer Akram demolishing a batsman's stumps. After social media users pointed out the gaffe, BBC apologised on Twitter.

Yesterday, one user tagged Shaniera with a tweeted, "Your husband is about to be the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Congrats." To which, she replied, "He said he was only going to Lahore to vote!" Earlier, at the end of the programme, presenter Evan Davis said: "We made a mistake in our opening tonight. The footage we showed was of the cricketer Wasim Akram not Imran Khan. Don't know how that happened, sincere apologies."
