The Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) has shot off a letter to the Committee Of Administrators (COA) to highlight their anguish over acting president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) CK Khanna's conduct during the October 1 fifth and final ODI against Australia. The VCA has alleged that Khanna broke the sanctity of the BCCI president's box at the Jamtha stadium by distributing passes to people who were not connected to the BCCI or with the game. The COA is set to question Khanna over the VCA letter.

As per an agreement, the BCCI president is entitled a quota of 50 tickets for an international match. "The BCCI president's box is a very sacred place for the VCA. It is a tradition. No one except the BCCI members, office-bearers or people connected to the BCCI and the game are allowed into the president's box. When there is no request from the BCCI, we don't even open the box. It was quite disturbing to note that Khanna gave those passes to people who were nowhere connected to the game or the BCCI," a VCA source told mid-day yesterday.

The VCA has stated in their letter that Khanna sent 20 tickets to VCA's ex-president Prakash Dixit, who had never asked for any in first place. "Dixit was surprised when he received those tickets from Khanna. He returned them to the VCA, as he did not require them. He only came for the match when the VCA office-bearers requested him to do so," the source said. Khanna did not wish to comment. "I am at the match [India v NZ T20] and would not like to comment on this. Those people [who were given tickets] were known to me," he said.
