England spinner Graeme Swann has a badly bruised left knee and will be out of England's lineup for two weeks during the team's limited-overs series against Australia.

England coach Andy Flower said today that Swann could possibly return for the sixth game of the seven-match one-day series in Sydney on February 2.

Swann received a knock on his left knee while batting in last week's first Twenty20 match against Australia in Adelaide.

"He has got a slightly deformed kneecap on his left knee," Flower said. "He got hit and it is badly bruised and it is quite painful so he won't be playing in this game and might have to rest for 10 days to two weeks. "That does give (James) Tredwell the opportunity depending on whether we want to pick two spinners or not."

Injured pace bowlers Stuart Broad and James Anderson will return to Australia to rejoin the England squad on Friday, Flower said.

Broad broke down with an abdominal strain during the second Ashes test in Adelaide in December and is still doing recovery work.

Anderson was given time off after England's triumphant Ashes campaign, and missed the two T20 games and the first one-dayer.

He is expected to play in the fourth one-dayer against Australia in Adelaide on January 26.

Flower said he didn't anticipate Broad to be fit to play in the one-day series.

"It is better for him to be out here rather than being in the middle of an English winter," Flower said.

Australia won the first one-day match by six wickets and the second match will be played Friday in Hobart.
