Monty Panesar, the ex-English spinner, largely credited for England's memorable 2012-13 series win in India, was roped in by Cricket Australia (CA) last month to tackle Indian spin twins Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja besides training Australians Matt Renshaw and Steve O'Keefe to perform well on Indian pitches.

However, it has emerged that Panesar trained the two Australians only for two days and that too not on spin-friendly Indian pitches. Panesar also didn't travel to Dubai where the Australian team trained at the International Cricket Council's academy to get acclimatised to Indian pitches.

"He (Panesar) worked with two of our players, namely Matt Renshaw and Steve O'Keefe for two days in Australia," said the Australian team's spokesperson.

The services of former India player, Sridharan Sriram, who played eight ODIs, are being utilised by CA. Sriram also travelled to Dubai and is presently with the team which will play India 'A' at the Brabourne Stadium.
