India's premier left-arm orthodox spinner Pragyan Ojha on Tuesday joined a long list of celebrities who have campaigned for The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

The 27-year-old cricketer posed inside a cage with a banner reading "Try to relate to their fate: Say no to zoo,"  in Hyderabad to protest cruelty on animals in zoos.

The PETA campaign highlights their belief that animals do not belong in cages and that they deserve to roam, explore, socialise and enjoy their freedom.

The campaign urges people to boycott zoos since the non-profit organisation believes that wild animals belong in the wild and that enclosures can't recreate their natural habitat.

PETA also believes that animals in zoos are unhappy since they are forced to spend their lives in captivity.

Various other sportspersons like England cricketer Jade Dernbach and US basketball legend Dennis Rodman have posed for PETA over the years.
