Rembrandt masterpiece auctioned for Rs 153 Crore

A masterpiece by Rembrandt, 'Portrait of a man, half-length, with his arms akimbo' (see pic), sold for a record u00a320.2 million (Rs 153 crore) at auction in London last night, after not being seen in public for 40 years, organisers said.

A masterpiece by Rembrandt, 'Portrait of a man, half-length, with his arms akimbo' (see pic), sold for a record u00a320.2 million (Rs 153 crore) at auction in London last night, after not being seen in public for 40 years, organisers said.

This is a world record for a Rembrandt at auction and the fourth highest price ever for an Old Master painting sold at auction, Christie's said. It was painted in 1658.
