Fallen star

'Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson and now Whitney Houston. We are all hypocrites because we are all guilty of mocking them while they were alive.' That tweet from Sharon Osbourne was one of many that flooded timelines in the wake of singer Whitney Houston's sudden demise. Millions used their 140 characters to pay tribute, like Yoko Ono for instance: 'Whitney was a woman of brave and beautiful soul. I feel sad that she has gone.' There were other kinds of messages too though, like this from a certain Billy Berry: 'Michael Jackson died at 58, Whitney Houston at 48, Amy Winehouse at 27. How old is Justin Bieber again?'

Grammy time
Music's biggest night prompted a lot of people to comment on those who won, others who didn't and still others who didn't matter. There was this suggestion from someone using the handle Autocorrects: 'I wish Beyonce and Jay-Z would get on stage and present their baby to the world like Mufasa did in The Lion King.' Jen Hatmaker tweeted: 'Adele sweeps the Grammies. No fire, no meat costume, no ridiculous choreography. Just pure talent. There is hope for the future.' Adam Bravin was annoyed: 'Dear Grammies, no mention of Etta James in the video tribute? Shame on you.' And from Korey: 'Katy Perry may not have any Grammy, but keep in mind she did win the 2009 MTV Latinoamerica Award for Best Ringtone.'

Anger management
What pisses you off in general? That question yielded these among other responses: 'Slow Internet connections', 'Monday mornings', 'people who smack their food when they eat', 'little peanut packets served on airplanes' and 'late night texts from people who don't matter.'

The last word
From chat show host Oprah Winfrey: 'To me Whitney Houston was The Voice. We got to hear a part of God every time she sang. Heart is heavy, spirit grateful for the gift of her.'
