On July 27th, Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT), who works closely with terrorist organisations, launched a border attack. Pakistani troop’s plot was thwarted at a forward post in Kamkari, Macchal Sector on the Line of Control. In the major operation, the Indian Army gunned down one Pakistani militant as the operation was still in progress. However, five Indian Army personnel have suffered injuries in the ensuing military operation, sources added. Notably, Pakistan’s terror attempt comes a day after India celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26. On July 26 in Kargil, PM Modi vowed to crush terrorism from its roots and warned ‘Aatank ke Aaka’ during his address.
