Over 121 people have been killed in a crush at a religious gathering in Uttar Pradesh`s Hathras, on 2nd July. The incident took place at a Satsang which is a hindu religious event, at Phulrai village in Hathras. The victims, including a large number of women and some children, are still being identified. As per the reports, the stampede took place after the satsang when a crowd of thousands of people started exiting the venue at once. Most of the casualties reported were women and children. 100s of injured people were immediately transferred to the nearby hospitals in Etah. Forensic experts along with the dog squad collected evidence at the incident site. Hathras DM Ashish Kumar said, “District administration is investigating the matter. The injured are being taken to the hospital and people are still being recovered. Meanwhile the eyewitnesses have described how the disaster unfolded.
