Family rejoices release of Indian priest kidnapped in Yemen

Family of an Indian priest, who was abducted by unidentified gunmen in Yemen in March last year, expressed their joy after hearing the reports of his release. Father Tom’s cousin said that they were elated to know he was alive and safe and thanked the authorities for their efforts in rescuing the Catholic priest. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj took to twitter to share the news of the priest’s release. “I am happy to inform that Father Tom Uzhunnalil has been rescued.” Father Tom was abducted when four unidentified gunmen attacked a care home in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, killing four Indian nuns, two Yemeni female staff members, eight elderly residents and a guard
