Lok Sabha elections 2024: Andhra CM Jagan Mohan Reddy says to vote for governance which will lead to brighter future

On Monday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy cast his vote saying that vote for that governance, which would lead to a "brighter future." "You have seen the governance in the last 5 years and if you think you have benefited from this governance, then vote for that governance, which would lead to a brighter future," Andhra CM told ANI.


Per an ANI report, he voted at Jayamahal Anganawadi Polling Booth No. 138 in the Kadapa Constituency. From this seat, Congress's YS Sharmila, TDP's Chadipiralla Bhupesh Subbarami Reddy and YSRCP's YS Avinash Reddy are contesting elections. Sitting MP YS Avinash Reddy of the YSR Congress Party is pitted against state Congress chief YS Sharmila. Sharmila is the sister of YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy and the daughter of former Andhra chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Jagan and Sharmila Reddy's cousin is Avinash Reddy. Chidipiralla Bhupesh Reddy is the candidate put out by the Telugu Desam Party. The TDP have an alliance with the BJP for this seat.


On Monday at 7:00 am, voting for the 96 Parliamentary Constituencies spread across nine states and one Union Territory in the fourth round of the Lok Sabha elections got underway. Alongside the Lok Sabha elections, polling for all 175 seats in the Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly and 28 seats in the Odisha State Legislative Assembly began simultaneously.


Out of the 96 Lok Sabha seats, 25 come from Andhra Pradesh, 17 from Telangana, 13 from Uttar Pradesh, 11 from Maharashtra, 8 from Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal, 5 from Bihar, 4 from Jharkhand and Odisha, and 1 from Jammu & Kashmir. According to the poll body,

4,264 nominations were submitted for 96 parliamentary constituencies nationwide,

Crucial polls are taking place in several constituencies during the fourth phase. BJP leader Giriraj Singh, JDU's Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), TMC leaders Shatrughan Sinha and Yusuf Pathan, West Bengal Congress chairman Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav are just a few instances of these leaders. In addition, Andhra Pradesh Congress Chief YS Sharmila, together with BJP leaders Arjun Munda and Madhavi Latha, seek to prevail in elections.

So far, till phase 3 of the Lok Sabha polls, polling has concluded smoothly and peacefully in 283 Lok Sabha seats.
