Thus spake an expert in the shastra who's close to the chief minister; says his wife's death could have been averted if CM heeded his advice

A vaastu expert says that if only chief minister B S Yeddyurappa had listened to him, he could have averted his wife's unnatural death.

"I had alerted Yeddyurappa two days before the fateful day, when I met him in Cubbon Park," he said. " I had asked him to close the sump at his Shikaripura residence to avoid an impending tragedy. But it did not happen."
Two days later, on 16 October 2004, Yeddyurappa's wife Mytradevi was found dead in the sump.
According to the vaastu expert, the water source must be in the northeast direction. But at Yeddyurappa's house, it was towards the southeast, which is meant for fire. "If you have fire in place of water, something of this sort is bound to happen," he said.
"It is better if the defects are rectified at least now," he said. "They have to shift the door from the southeast to northeast and close the sump at the present place."
He said even Yeddyurappa's residence at Dollars Colony had vaastu defects.u00a0 "The door faces the west, sending negative vibes in the house," he said. " There is a height difference in the walls.u00a0 It is higher toward the northwest because of which his life has become strenuous."
He said Yeddyurappa's stress since the time he was sworn in as chief minister all boiled down to vaastu.
"If corrective measures are not taken, the chief minister would face further downturn," he warned. "He may even lose his position."
