Two sisters drown in nullah

Two minor girls drowned in a nullah running through Chakrapani Vasahat in Bhosari yesterday afternoon around 2 pm.

The deceased were identified as Sonu Mahadev Avhad (10) and Sunita Subhan Avhad (9), both residents of Devkarmala in Bhosari. Sonu and Sunita are cousins and had gone to wash clothes near the nullah, said police officials. It was a passer-by who spotted the girls drowning and shouted for help.

Relatives reached the spot within minutes after they came to know about the mishap and rushed the girls Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Pimpri where they were declared brought dead, said police officials.u00a0
