Get set to rock to music band Tungztn who will perform live after a gap of six months and wow you with songs from their latest album
Pune-band music band Tungztn will perform as the guest band at the Rockathon festival at Hadapsar. The band is back on stage after almost six months as they have been keeping busy working on their second untitled album. The band will play original numbers from their latest album as well.
Speaking on the album, guitarist Shitalchandra says, "We have been working on this album over the past year. We have finished the first phase and are onto the second phase. We have been recording at my studio (chord India) and have composed 10 to 12 tracks so far." He adds that it's a full-fledged album, which will be melodious and include some new age music as well. "There will be lots of harmony and chord rock. It's definitely not a classic album because the music produced is not the same as it was back in the 80s. There is no touch of electronica because we are not an electronic band," he states.
While the band has been absent from the stage, they haven't been missing out on the joy of performing live.
"We have been very busy in the studio and as we can't do both together, we prefer to stay away. Now, we have a break from the studios for a month and so we want to go out and have fun," explains the guitarist.
But the members feel annoyed with amateur artists who interpret Rock music as more of a style statement.
"When I am judging or taking a workshop, I always tell young people that there should be a level of preparedness and they should not treat music as mere fun." The competition has 12 bands from across the country and the finalist will get a chance to perform at the opening act of the Bryan Adams concert in February.
On January 16, 6 pm onwards
At Amarona Park Town, Hapadsar.
