Cricket aficionados in the city will have to wait for another couple of days before they can proudly don the colours of their home team, the Pune Warriors India, for the latest edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).u00a0u00a0
Though the management promises to release the merchandises soon, the city stores are already flooded with enquiries about the new team jersey.

MiD DAY got in touch with the head of corporate communication for Sahara and director of the Pune Warrior India team Abhijit Sarkar who said the management was waiting for the World Cup to conclude before unveiling the team jersey. MiD DAY gives you a peek into how the jersey would look like.

The design
Officials from the Corporate Communication department of Sahara said the Pune Warriors India team would sport a black jersey, with its official logo printed on both the sleeves and left side of the chest below the shoulder. Their cap will also have the logo printed at the centre on the front side. All the letters on the jersey will be in yellow, while the logo picture will be in white.
The stores in the city are yet to receive the merchandises, but are getting numerous enquiries everyday. Some of industry insiders say that the t-shirts are expected to be priced around Rs 500.
Sachin Gaikwad, owner of Champion Sports, said, "I have been getting so many customers enquiring about the Pune IPL team merchandises. The demand is high and we are assuring our customers that they will get it soon. So far we haven't received it from the suppliers."
Avinash Patap, marketing head of Pune Central, said they were informed by officials that the merchandises would arrive in the market in a week's time. "The company which is distributing the items has informed us that we will receive them in a week. There is a lot of buzz in the market about it and as the IPL matches start, the items will hit the market."

I am going to buy the jerseys of the Pune Warriors. The team will play for the first time and being a cricket fan I am excited about it. I will wear it during the match to cheer the Pune team.
