Radar snag triggers chaos at BIA
Triggering absolute chaos at BIA today, a few domestic and international flights were stranded u2014 some on the air, many on the ground u2014 due to the breakdown of theu00a0radar.
The Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR) broke down around 9 am today. Arrival and departure of flights were delayed and fours aircrafts had to be diverted to Chennai airport.
However, around 1.30 pm the radar was restored and the air traffic has nowu00a0returned to normal state, according to the BIA sources.
