This eco-friendly project at CSMVS museum took about a year to plan and execute. The intent was to lower the museum’s carbon footprint and to also help create an example for other cultural organisations and individuals to emulate.

It will meet the requirement of the museum’s garden and surroundings in the evening and at night. Phase I is a pilot project. Phase II will be planned for the proposed Children’s Museum within CSMVS’s premises.

All for my fans, really?
BOLD graffiti on the walls of Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow Mannat recently had left many stumped. The superstar had even tweeted about being ‘shocked’ at the spray painting.

While SRK fanatics expressed sympathy for him, rationalists questioned how the “culprits” managed to pull off this stunt despite a thick security cover that envelopes the actor’s house.

Despite the mixed opinions, the incident was widely covered by the media with some of them taking the “breach of security” too seriously, only to find out the next day that it was a promotional gimmick for Shah Rukh’s upcoming film, Fan. But only a section of the media laughed over it; the others felt the star was just exploiting his power and position to fool the world.

Grace for a cause
Cine legend Waheeda Rehman came out in support of underprivileged cancer patients from Kolkata’s Tata Medical Center through a campaign, ‘Dil Sey Deejiye’. At an event held at Krishna Mehta’s apparel store in Mumbai, the graceful actor and a long-time supporter of Tata Medical Center put all her star power behind the cause.

As part of this pledge, many large-hearted Mumbaikars will run the campaigns, ‘Dil Sey Deejiye Dus Rupayyey’ and ‘Dil Sey Deejiye Sau Rupayyey’ at their respective outlets, egging customers to donate Rs 10 to Rs 100 or more with each purchase, to treat underprivileged cancer patients at the Tata Medical Center.

30 feet for safe distance?
This car at the Suman Nagar junction fly over at Sion/ Chembur a few days ago, caught our attention for the sign on its rear glass. It read ‘Keep 30 Feet Distance’. Now, while this instruction must be keeping in mind the safety aspect of both car and driver, what is questionable is its practicality.

In a city like Mumbai, where space is at an ultra-premium, and bumper-to-bumper traffic is the order of the day, a distance of 30 feet is a luxury that no driver can enjoy. On Mumbai’s choc-a-bloc streets there will
always be vehicles within 30 feet of your car at all times unless you’re driving on a playground!
