Have the time of your life this new year's eve

From international DJs, laser shows, belly dancers, flame throwers to the best quality alcohol, clubs and hotels in the city are leaving nothing to chance when it comes to the last and biggest party of the year

A DJ from Dubai, a Bollywood item girl, an Italian dancing troupe, an international scale laser and music show besides unlimited booze and food. These are just a few of the special perks that party organisers have arranged for New Year revellers this year.

After last year's subdued year end celebrations owing to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, hotels and night clubs say they have spared no means to ensure that parties this year are grand.

Special shows
At Taj Blue Diamond's New Year bash, Bollywood dancer and choreographer Gaysil Noronha will be performing with her troupe. While music will be played by their in-house DJ Cawas, hotel personnel said that the scale of the event would be much bigger compared to last year.

"The drinks and food will be unlimited; it is going to be like an international food fest. Also, a few guests would be given Taj holiday packages by lucky draw. Last year, our Taj hotel in Mumbai was attacked and that's why celebrations were low key," said Gautam Pandya, banquet sales co-ordinator.

International DJ
At Kalyani Nagar's Casanova lounge, a DJ has been specially called in from Dubai.

"We will have DJ Manish coming down from Dubai as a special treat for guests. Besides that, our banquet has much more to offer than last year. This year, we are going to have 28 varieties of food from various cuisines like Italian, Kashmiri, North Indian besides Indian and international beverage brands," said Desmond Joseph, manager.

At Baner's Pancard Club, manager Bhushan Bhandari said that besides music and food, the emphasis is on providing value for money.

"Last year, the party scene was subdued. But we want to make the experience a lasting one this time. That's why we have organised a futuristic laser show with music; giant screens have been put up everywhere," he added.

At Le Meridien's Club Scream, manager Gangadhar Panikkar said that as compared to last year when they were delivering packed food to homes of patrons, this year's party would be livelier.

"There would be unlimited starters, food and booze. Our DJ Agnel would be playing the music. We had tried calling a foreign DJ sometime earlier, but people preferred our in-house DJ, so this year we let him run the show," said Panikkar.
