A complaint has been registered at the Nirmal Nagar police station. Singh was carrying out welding work near the ticket-booking counter of Bandra station when an electric pole located in the centre of the road fell, landing on him.

A police officer from Nirmal Nagar police station said, “We have registered a case against unknown persons under charges of negligence and causing hurt under the Indian Penal Code.
The railways had given the maintenance contract to a private firm, the police said, adding that the condition of the 40-feet pole was so poor that it was balanced by only two bolts.
