After receiving a spate of complaints from commuters regarding the hassle in operating Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs), Central Railway (CR) authorities have decided to make modifications to the graphical user interface (GUI) system in the ticket vending machines from today.
The ATVMs will now be enabled with pictorial messages depicting five different animated pictures in the steps to procure a ticket. The first picture will show how to place the card. The subsequently graphics will depict the remaining steps.u00a0

“We want to address the basic problem faced by the public,” said a senior CR official. CR will also buy 70-plus ATVMs soon for various stations. It was understood that commuters were finding it difficult to operate the machines and favoured coupons or tickets. There are 250-odd ATVMs across the suburban section from CST to Karjat/Kasara and Panvel on the Harbour line.u00a0u00a0
