Police sources say Pranav, the police chief's son, called the cops to report rowdy behaviour in bar
If rumours are to be believed, Jessica Lal murder convict Manu Sharma chose the wrong guy to pick a fight with in a Delhi bar on Friday night.
Sources in the police department say Sharma, who was out of jail on a two-month parole, and his allies had a heated argument with Pranav Dadwal, the son of Delhi Police Commissioner YS Dadwal, at Ashoka Hotel's F Bar late on Friday night. Reportedly, Pranav called the police and one of Sharma's friends was arrested. Sharma managed to flee the bar.
Though the rumours grew stronger throughout Tuesday, Delhi Police denied any role of their chief's son in the episode.

Following the spat, Sharma, who was with his friend Sahil Dhingra, owner of apparel export company Orient Craft, left the bar and moved to the lounge bar LAP in the adjacent Samrat Hotel.
A senior police official, wishing anonymity, said they got a call at 2.30 am from Pranav that some people were behaving in a rowdy manner at the bar. Reportedly, within minutes, a team of police officials from the nearby Chanakyapuri Police Station arrived at LAP bar.
The police reached the spot looking for Sharma and Sahil Dhingra. They picked up Dhingra from the bar but Sharma managed to escape from a rear door.
In the confusion, the police forced businessman Samir Thapar, vice-president and managing director of JCT, to come with them. Thapar was detained for nearly ten hours before being set free. He said he was planning to sue the Delhi Police for his illegal detention.
Samir Thapar and Sahil Dhingra were booked under Section 107 (Security for Keeping the Peace in other Cases) and 151 (Arrest to Prevent the Commission of Cognizable Offences) of the Code of Criminal Procedure Act. They were subsequently produced before the special executive magistrate on Saturday and granted bail.
Meanwhile, despite repeated SMSes and calls, YS Dadwal couldn't be reached for a comment.

Delhi Police Spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said, "There was no tiff between Manu Sharma and Dadwal's son. We got a PCR call and the police force went to the nightclub to attend that. There, the police team quizzed Sahil Dhingra and his four bodyguards. We asked his bodyguards to produce their gun licences but they were unable to do so. So we had to take all of them to the police station. Later, Samir Thapar came to his rescue and started misbehaving with the police. So we had to arrest him as well."
