Prime Minister Narendra Modi's roadshow in Mumbai on Wednesday evening drew an immense crowd, with thousands of people lining the streets to show their support.
The roadshow was organised to canvass support for the BJP and its allies' candidates contesting in the May 20 Lok Sabha polls in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra.
PM Modi's roadshow commenced from Ashok Silk Mills in Ghatkopar (West) and spanned for over an hour, concluding at Parshawanath Chowk in Ghatkopar (East).
Prior to the roadshow, PM Modi addressed campaign rallies in Kalyan and Dindori, extending his support to the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP coalition's candidates contesting in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
The Prime Minister received a warm welcome from the gathered crowds, with people waving BJP flags, chanting slogans in his praise, and expressing gratitude for various initiatives, including the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The roadshow witnessed participation from people belonging to different communities, including Gujaratis and followers of the Warkari sect.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, and BJP's Lok Sabha candidates for Mumbai North East and Mumbai North Central constituencies were among the notable leaders present during the event.
Stringent security arrangements were put in place for the roadshow, leading to the suspension of Mumbai Metro services between Jagruti Nagar and Ghatkopar stations, and temporary road closures and traffic diversions.
The roadshow demonstrated the active engagement of the public in the democratic process, with citizens showing keen interest in interacting with PM Modi.
Supporters displayed various symbols of endorsement, such as holding BJP poll symbols, expressing gratitude for the Ram Temple construction, and echoing slogans endorsing PM Modi's leadership.
Cultural elements were integrated into the roadshow, with participants donning fishermen's costumes and traditional attire, adding vibrancy to the event and showcasing the cultural diversity of Mumbai
Ghatkopar, known for its significant Gujarati population, holds strategic importance for the BJP, being considered a stronghold for the party in Mumbai.
The presence of leaders from different political backgrounds at the roadshow underscored the unity within the BJP-led alliance and its commitment to securing victory in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Following the conclusion of the roadshow and restoration of normalcy in the area, Mumbai Metro services resumed between Jagruti Nagar and Ghatkopar stations, ensuring minimal disruption to public transportation.
