Thane records 358 new Covid-19 cases, recovery rate at 97.90 per cent

Thane reported 358 new Covid-19 cases, raising its infection tally to 1,86,933, according to Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) on June 16.


With this, the active cases in the city stand at 1,803.


As per the bulletin, 158 Covid patients recovered, taking the total number of recoveries since the beginning in the city to 1,82,999.


The recovery rate in the TMC area is 97.90 per cent. There was no fatality on June 16 and the death toll in the district remained unchanged at 2,131.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on June 15 recorded 4,255 new coronavirus infections, highest since February 12, and three pandemic- related fatalities, the state health department said.

The active caseload rose to 20,634 on Thursday. As many as 2,879 patients recovered from COVID-19 in the state since previous evening, which took the tally of recovered patients to 77,55,183. The recovery rate in the state is 97.87 per cent.
