Mumbai: Western Railway to carry out night block between Borivali and Bhayandar stations on Sunday

A jumbo block of four hours will be taken on up Slow lines and down fast lines between Borivali and Bhayandar station will be operated, the Western Railway said

The Western Railway on Friday said that it will carry out night block between Borivali and Bhayandar stations on Sunday.


In an official statement, the Western Railway said, to carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment, a jumbo block of four hours will be taken on up slow lines and down fast lines between Borivali and Bhayandar station from 00:40 hrs to 04:40 hrs on Sunday, 20th August, 2023.  


According to a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer, Sumit Thakur of Western Railway, during the block period, all UP Slow line trains will be operated on UP Fast lines between Virar/ Vasai Road to Borivali and all DOWN Fast line trains will be operated on DOWN Slow lines between Goregoan to Vasai Road / Virar station.


"Detailed information to this effect is available in concerned Station Master’s office. There will be no block in the day time over Western Railway suburban section on this Sunday, 20th August, 2023," the Western Railway said. 

Meanwhile, in an another statement on Thursday, the Western Railway said, the Western Railway on Thursday said that it will run special train from Bandra Terminus in Mumbai for the upcoming annual Velankanni festival.

In a statement, the Western Railway said that for the convenience of passengers and to clear the extra rush on the eve of Velankanni festival 2023, a special train will run between Bandra Terminus and Velankanni.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the details are as under:-

Train No. 09043/09044 Bandra Terminus – Velankanni Special [2 TRIPS]

Train No. 09043 Bandra Terminus – Velankanni Special will depart from Bandra Terminus on Thursday, 7th September 2023 at 21.20 hrs. & will reach Velankanni at 10.05 hrs, on Saturday. Similarly, Train No. 09044 Velankanni - Bandra Terminus Special will depart from Velankanni on Saturday, 9th September 2023 at 21.45 hrs. & will arrive Bandra Terminus at 12.30 hrs. on Monday. 

Enroute this train will halt at Borivali, Vasai Road, Panvel, Lonavala, Pune, Solapur, Kalaburagi, Wadi, Raichur, Manthralayam Road, Adoni, Guntakal, Cuddapah, Renigunta, Katpadi, Vellore Cantt., Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore port, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Thiruvarur and Nagappattinam station in both directions. 

This train comprises of First AC, AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches.

The booking for Train No. 09043 will open from 19th August, 2023 at all PRS Counters and on IRCTC website. The above trains will run as special train on special fare.
