An enquiry has been ordered in an incident, in which an owner of a flat and his relatives were evicted and booked for trespassing, by Chembur police. Sudhir Maru and his family members were arrested for entering their own flat, a charge which has forced them to live in a community centre ever since.

Additional Commissioner (East Region) has ordered an enquiry by Assistant Police commissioner in the matter. Sudhir Maru booked a flat on the 15th floor of Kranti building number 1 in Subhash Nagar, Chembur (E), in 2014 for Rs 59 lakh.

Maru received keys to the flat, which he rented out till 2021. In March 2021, Maru decided to move back, but on March 14, Chembur cops allegedly evicted and booked him. GA builders complained to the police that Maru hadn’t paid the full amount.
