A 40-year-old woman is feared to have drowned in Tansa creek in Virar, a police official said.


According to the police, the incident took place late on Friday evening, September 1. The Mandavi police and other authorities have launched a search operation to find the woman.


Shiladevi Thakur and her two daughters had gone for a walk near the Hedavde area which is near the Tansa creek in Virar.


Thakur allegedly went near the creek where her leg slipped and she fell into the creek and disappeared due to high tide. According to the police, Thakur has been missing since then and the Mandavi police along with the fire brigade department have started a search operation to find her.
