An allocation of roughly Rs 789 crore for railways, which will take total allocation to Rs 1,578 crore when combined with the Maharashtra government’s inputs, is what the city has got in the interim budget for railway projects under various phases of the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP). The pink book released on Thursday has given a break-up of the detailed allocations for MUTP projects with Rs 100 crore for MUTP2, Rs 300 crore for MUTP3 and Rs 388 crore for MUTP3A, totalling roughly to Rs 789 crore.
