Mumbai: BMC organises clean-up drive at Girgaum beach

Flagging off its Clean Mumbai-Clean India campaign, the BMC organised a clean-up drive at Girgaum beach on Monday morning. The initiative was flagged off by CM Devendra Fadnavis and other dignitaries.

Girgaum beach has the largest number of Ganesh idol immersions every year. The civic body undertakes a clean-up drive the next day with the help of locals and volunteers. This year, the drive was made the first day of the BMC's Clean Mumbai-Clean India campaign that will go on for a fortnight.

The CM signed up his support to the campaign, then administered an oath to all those present. He and the Mayor then flagged off a symbolic chariot for the occasion. He appreciated the civic body's efforts towards cleanliness and organization of the Visarjan.
