Untoward incidents
A Shiv Sena MP and an MLA were issued notices by the Election Code of Conduct chief for KDMC polls trying to influence voters outside a polling booth in Kalyan. “Both — MP Arvind Sawant and MLA Balaji Kenikar — were influencing voters.

We immediately took them away from the spot and issued them notices. Barring few minor incidents, voting was conducted in a peaceful manner,” said ECC chief Jamir Lengarekar.

An incident of bogus voting was reported at Kalyan’s Khadakpada. Two bogus voters were taken into custody from a polling booth in ward no 23. In addition, a scuffle broke out between BJP and Shiv Sena party workers at Patharli in Dombivli (East).
