Originally from Punjab, Jaskamal Sehgal and her family had settled in Mumbai several years ago. She had returned a year ago after finishing her MBA from London and was searching for better opportunities in private sector companies but was unsuccessful in it. She was also depressed about her height, which was a little above 4-feet.
She committed suicide when her family had gone to Siddhivinayak temple in Prabhadevi. Her family found her body hanging upon returning. The door was open and police is probing the reason behind this.
“On the basis of the complaint filed by her family members, we have registered an Accidental Death Report and her body has been handed over to them for final rites,” said an officer of Powai police station, adding that she has not left behind a suicide note.
Her family consists of her parents and two brothers; while her father runs a shop, one of the brothers works in USA as an electrical engineer.
