Cops hot on trail of prime suspect in Navi Mumbai doc murder case

Cops hot on trail of prime suspect in Navi Mumbai doc murder case

The Navi Mumbai police are hot on the trail of the watchman who was working in the building, where Dr Netra Telathi was killed inside her clinic at Koparkhairane. The needle of suspicion moved to the watchman as he was dismissed following a complain from Telathi. She had complained to the society that the watchman was not performing his duty properly.

According to a police officer investigating the case, though the watchman was dismissed nearly a month and a half back, he left for the village only on the day of the murder.

During the course of investigation it was revealed that the watchman had a tiff with the doctor after he lost his job. When the police inquired about his whereabouts they found he had left for his native place on the day of the murder.

A team of Koparkhairane police has already left for Uttar Pradesh in search of the watchman. According to a police officer, "The watchman who was working in the building has been not seen after the murder. We have come to know that the two had a tiff and he is the main suspect in the case. We have to interrogate him, still then he is not the culprit but only a suspect."

R D Shinde, Deputy commissioner of police, Navi Mumbai confirmed that a team has gone to UP. He said, "We have a suspicion on him, but we need to interrogate him before claiming that he is the accused. However we are close to solving the case."

The murder case
Dr Talathi was found dead with a deep head injury last Thursday at her first floor clinic in Channel Tower, Koparkhairane, Sector 15. The police suspect that the murder was planned by a person known to Netra, as the killer struck at a time when the dentist used to be alone in her clinic. She was wearing her surgical gloves and a machine was switched on when her aunt discovered her body on Thursday around 5.45 pm.
