CET for law: Aspirants panic as several fail to secure hall tickets

Panic has gripped numerous candidates appearing for the first-ever Common Entrance Test-Law (CET-Law) slated for June 19, as they are yet to secure hall tickets owing to the inaccessibility of the MHT-CET website. June 8 was the day when hall tickets went online.

Vishwanath Naikwade, a Commerce graduate from Parel, said, “The hall tickets were to be made available on the website so that the candidates could take printouts. We understand that there is still time for the exam, but at least the authorities should issue a clarification on the website explaining the delay. Officially, soft copies of the hall tickets were supposed to be available online at 11 am from June 8. Unfortunately, I haven’t be able to access the website at all.”

Reema Kadam, an Arts graduate, said, “The website isn’t functioning smoothly. Luckily, I checked the portal the next day (June 9) and secured my hall-ticket.”

Sachin Pawar, president of Law Students’ Council, said, “The test is stressful because it is being conducted for the first time. Also, mystery shrouds others aspects such as criteria for admission and what happens to those appearing for other law entrance tests, among others. Even colleges are clueless, as there was hardly any participation from their end in framing the test.”

Official word
While Director of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) SK Mahajan was unavailable for comment, a senior CET Cell officer said, “Candidates need not panic, as there is plenty of time for the exam. A few of the hall tickets are still being uploaded. Every candidate will get her/his hall ticket before the exam.”
