Officials manning the helpline worked from 10 am to 7 pm in shifts to offer uninterrupted services to students and parents
The helpline set up by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) office in Vashi yesterday witnessed a very busy day, helping students sort out uncertainties related to the exam results, re-examination and the necessary procedures to be followed.
The help desk worked without any breaks, with officials on duty working in shifts to make the service available throughout the day. The line is open from 10 am to 7 pm every day. Pradeep Sule from the help desk said, “We received more than a hundred calls since morning.”
The calls were not just from students but eager parents too, who sought answers to questions ranging from viable career options, paper revaluation and obtaining photocopies of answer sheets. Most of the calls were recorded and catalogued, and details such as the roll number of student and names of parents were noted down.
Shailaja Mulay, a board-appointed counsellor, said, “I have been receiving calls not only from students, but also from parents, regarding career opportunities and doubts concerning various fields.” Malini Shah, co-founder and senior counsellor, Aastha Chrysalis counselling centre, said, “Students and parents both need to accept the marks in a very positive manner, and must grab the opportunities that come their way, which will in turn help them.”
She added, “The students called to clear their doubts regarding revaluation, and parents were looking at more practical aspects, such as the options before their children in case they secured marks lower than expected.”
