19 new Covid-19 cases reported in Thane district, active tally at 284

Thane district on Saturday reported as many as 19 new Covid-19 cases, taking its infection count to 1,96,476, as per the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) data.


With the addition of the latest cases on Saturday, Thane currently has 284 active Covid-19 cases. With no fatalities reported on September 17, the toll in Thane remained unchanged at 2,159, according to the data.


As per the TMC bulletin, 42 Covid-19 patients recovered, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,94,033. The recovery rate in the TMC area is 98.76 per cent.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported 631 fresh Covid-19 cases and three deaths on Saturday. With addition of new cases the tally in the state is now 81,14,940 and the toll is 1,48,307.

There has been a slight drop in the daily cases compared to Friday when 697 infections were reported along with two fatalities.
