An alarming incident unfolded at Mumbai International Airport when an unidentified caller made a hoax bomb threat, claiming the presence of an explosive device concealed within a blue bag on the airport premises, stated a report in ANI.

According to the agency report, The Mumbai police swiftly responded to the call, deploying a bomb squad team to thoroughly investigate the matter. However, their diligent efforts yielded no evidence of any explosives within the airport premises.

A police spokesperson provided details of the incident, stating, "A hoax call was made to Mumbai International Airport, indicating the presence of a bomb in a blue bag at the airport. Mumbai police officers and a bomb squad team promptly arrived at the airport to conduct a thorough investigation. After a comprehensive probe, nothing suspicious was found."

While the threat ultimately proved to be unfounded, the search for the individual responsible for the hoax call is now underway. Authorities are determined to identify and apprehend the caller to hold them accountable for their actions.

This incident follows a similar hoax bomb threat received by the Mumbai Police in August, originating from an unidentified caller who claimed the possibility of a blast or untoward incident at both Mumbai and Delhi Domestic and International Airports. In response to that threat, law enforcement agencies, in collaboration with other relevant authorities, conducted extensive security checks at the airports. Fortunately, no suspicious items or activities were discovered during the inspections.
