Mumbai Crime: Servant, his accomplice arrested for murdering elderly woman in Worli

The Worli police arrested the servant and his accomplice for murdering a 77-year-old woman. The accused servant Nishad and his friend Abhijeet Joria had tied the woman's mouth, which led to her death.


The woman was murdered at her home in Worli on Thursday might and Nishad, who was hired by the family two months ago, was missing since then.


The victim resided with her husband, son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.


The police had formed a special team to find the killers and the duo was from the suburbs. The police have also recovered the stolen jewelry and money from the accused.

According to the police, Nishad, a resident of Saharanpur, was residing in the house itself and made a plan of stealing gold and cash.

Paramjit Singh Dahiya, DCP (Zone 3), told Mid-day, “The murder was done with the purpose of theft. The police have arrested both the accused.”

Additional CP Dr. Dnyaneshwar Chavan told Mid-day, “The police have arrested the accused after conducting technical investigation and have also recovered the stolen jewellery from them.”
