A domestic help has been arrested for stealing gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 4.5 lakh from actor Vinay Anand’s residence, Oshiwara police said on Thursday.
Police said they arrested Anita Turi, 22, on Wednesday and the jeweller belonged to the actor’s wife, Jyoti Anand. Turi had been working at the couple’s house at Lokhandwala in Andheri West for the past six months. She used to work from 10 am to 6 pm daily.

Police registered the case on Tuesday on a complaint from Jyoti. According to the complaint, Jyoti had received the jewellery in her wedding and had kept it in a bag inside the cupboard. She found the jewellery missing a couple of days back and asked Anand about it. When he denied having any knowledge about it, she asked the help who also claimed to know nothing.
