A 30-year-old man was murdered and his 20-year-old friend was injured by two unknown persons at Mahim Beach during the wee hours of Wednesday. 


The woman has been admitted to Sion Hospital and is stable. 


According to the complaint registered by the woman, she and her friend went to Mahim Chowpatty around midnight on Tuesday. While they were at Chowpatty, around 2.30 am, two unknown persons approached them and tried to molest the woman. The duo was allegedly assaulted with sharp weapons when they tried to resist.


The Mahim police rushed to the spot and found the body of the man. He was taken to Sion Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

"The man and the woman had cut wounds on the body. We are trying to find out the accused," told an officer from Mahim police station. 

"The woman was rushed to Sion Hospital after she was assaulted from where cops got information. The medical report doesn't suggest any sexual attack," the officer added. 

A murder case been registered against the unknown persons. The Crime Branch Unit 5 has also begun a parallel investigation.
