If power couple had to be defined in four words, Ben and Georgie Ainslie would fit in the slot perfectly. Sir Charles Benedict Ainslie or Ben is a competitive sailor and one of the most successful ones in Olympic history, having won medals in five consecutive Olympics. Meanwhile, his partner, Georgie Ainslie is a celebrated British television presenter. What they have can be called a high-performance partnership, a term constantly echoed throughout their new podcast, Performance People.

This podcast comes across as a podium to hail high-performance duos across all walks of life as they share their success stories. Formula 1 racing fans will enjoy Toto and Susie Wolff’s episode while those who like their dose of politics, will dig the episode with Alastair Campbell and Fiona Millar. From married couples and friends to business partners and colleagues, the show portrays the stories of couples who complement each other. As this writer continued listening to one episode after another, it became increasingly evident that these extremely successful folks are only human, after all. “It’s been a big thing, figuring out what happens now. What is the future for what I do for a living,” this statement by well-known wildlife TV presenter, Steve Backshall, while in conversation with his wife, Helen Glover, describing his career post-fatherhood, drives home the point.
Creating a professional yet casual environment, the podcast gives the listener the feeling of having spent an hour constructively. Although the guest line-up is starry, you can choose the episode you wish to listen to, as all topics may not necessarily resonate with everyone. However, the interviewee list on the show could do with more diversity as the personalities largely belong to the UK. Overall, Performance People proves to be an enjoyable listening experience with a platter of super achievers and topics that are bound to inspire and engage the listener.
