Made from organic cacao beans and organic muscovado (khandasari) sugar, we wouldn’t have believed its healthy origins had it not been for the informative labels [seen in all their packaging].
Brownie points for the packaging that uses reclaimed cotton or cocoa husk
Engaging in guilty pleasures took a more appreciative turn since our ‘locked-in’ lives began last year. Chocolate ranks high on this list. So, we decided to order a few new interesting flavours launched by Kocoatrait, the Chennai-based indie-based chocolate makers. We were wowed by the 70% Bean-to-Bar Dark Chocolate that is vegan and gluten-free; its subtly bitter, heady texture did a dance on our palate. Made from organic cacao beans and organic muscovado (khandasari) sugar, we wouldn’t have believed its healthy origins had it not been for the informative labels [seen in all their packaging].
The 70% Desert Salt Bean-to-Bar Dark Chocolate is also made from organic cocoa beans. The desert salt, harvested sustainably from the Thar Desert, offers a trippy hit. Our last indulgence is the 46% Brownie Sea Salt Dark Milk Chocolate. This version, what they call, ‘dark milk chocolate’, is a tribute to Indian A2 milk. Not fans of milk chocolate, we warmed up to it due to the sea salt and brownie sprinkled-jugalbandi. After our chocolate-y distraction, when we opened the wrappers inside out, each saluted a differently abled person who helped print the product. Chocolate heaven that makes a difference.
