Sample the best of American eats and drinks at 16 Mumbai eateries that come together to host a food fest

Canned Pink Salmon, Baked Beans, Gluten Free Pancake Mix, Pecans, Blueberries, Washington Apples, Wilbut Prunes: For the next two weeks, you can sample some of these American ingredients as part of The Gr8 American Food and Beverage Festival.

The festival has been put together by US Department of Agriculture (USDA), supported by All Things Nice. The idea is to increase awareness and popularise the use of American beverages, ingredients and agricultural produce in Mumbai.
As such, they have tied up with city restaurants and bars to create new set menus, mains and cocktails. For instance: AKA has a set three-course menu for '2,099 that includes a USA Pear Danish Blue Ravioli Served With Salsa Verde and Parmesan Crumble; Woodside Inn’s Slow Roasted Habit BBQ Sauce cooked Pork Belly has a Jim Beam Bourbon Jus ('545) and The Sassy Spoon has set menu ('1,500) that features Pork Ribs with Smoked American BBQ sauce.
Other dishes include Crepes with American Corn and Spinach, Potato Croquettes with Californian Walnut Cream, Buffalo Tenderloin Smokey BBQ Sauce, Kale & Ricotta Spanakopita with Meduri Dried Cranberries and Sage, and Washington Apple Tarte Tartine.
The participating restaurants and bars include Lima, Korner House, Ellipsis, Woodside Inn, Woodside All Day Bar & Eatery, Light House Cafe, Euro at Sahara Star, Cafe Zoe, and Please Don’t Tell.
